JR RaphaelJR Raphael is a star of stage and screen — if by “a star of stage and screen,” you mean “a writer.” His stories are syndicated in dozens of publications and frequently used as napkins, scrap paper, and toilet tissue.

JR currently writes daily blogs and long-form features for PCWorld, where he is a contributing editor. He’s regularly published in such places as MSNBC.com, The Washington Post, and BusinessWeek. He’s also a writer with Publications International and has co-authored four collections of humorous narratives.

In the summer of 2009, JR co-founded eSarcasm along with his colleague (and rumored doppelganger) Dan Tynan. The site, specializing in Geek Humor Gone Wild™, showcases such important investigatory reports as “7 Reasons Why Google Would Make a Bad Boyfriend,” “10 Words Missing From Oxford’s Word of the Year List,” and “Apple, China to Collectively Oppress with iPhone Deal.” (That last one, by the way, may or may not have resulted in eSarcasm’s permanent banning from both China and the App Store.)

JR’s work has been honored with numerous awards, including two Emmys, three Murrows, and a smattering of top distinctions from the Associated Press. He has appeared on ABC World News and been cited in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and PBS.org.

Despite rumors to the contrary, JR is not actually Canadian. He has also, to the best of his knowledge, never appeared in a low-budget pornography film.
